Derby Day

Not much poker so far today - just two STTs on VC this afternoon, finishing second in the second for a net loss of $2 !

I'll be in a couple of freerolls by 8pm so will report back later on.

On the racing front however I should have just had a good day. Desert Lord (half-brother to Carnival Dancer, the father of our only foal this year) won the Vodafone Dash at 12-1 (over 18-1 on the Tote) with Continent (by Lake Coniston, a sire we have used in the past) a personal favourite in third, paying over 11-1 the place on the Tote. Then the Derby was won by Sir Percy (by Mark of Esteem, a stallion we have used in the past) at 6-1 (6.4 on the Tote).

I like to back horses by stallions we have used (shows faith in them), but did I today ? ................

and the freerolls ? - not even close !
